Michaels to Host Grand Opening for the Renaissance in Asbury Park, NJ

The Mayor will be among keynote speakers for the ribbon cutting ceremony for brand new affordable housing community.

A grand opening ceremony for Asbury Park’s newest affordable community, The Renaissance, developed by The Michaels Organization in partnership with the city of Asbury Park, will be held next week.

The grand opening ceremony will feature remarks from:

  • Mayor of Asbury Park John Moor
  • NJHMFA Executive Director Charles Richman
  • Councilperson Yvonne Clayton
  • Freeholder Thomas Arnone
  • Vice President of Development, Gin Dawson, The Michaels Organization

The $20.2 development, financed in part by Superstorm Sandy recovery funds provided by NJHMFA, includes 32 apartments in a four-story building and four townhouse buildings each containing eight apartments. The development serves households earning less than 60 percent AMI. Five apartments are reserved for homeless individuals and veterans. The Renaissance was built on three vacant adjacent parcels on Springwood Avenue and is part of the corridor’s ongoing redevelopment. In 2016, the Springwood Avenue Park opened across from The Renaissance.
