Jay Russo joins as Vice President of Development

​University Student Living, LLC, the student housing company of The Michaels Organization, announces that Jay Russo has joined the company as Vice President-Development. He is responsible for business development and serves as the community and government liaison in the Boston metro area.

University Student Living has developed two projects within the last three years in the Boston area: The Axiom in Cambridge, which has since been sold and the city’s first off-campus micro-unit housing operated for students, 1047 Commonwealth Avenue in Boston, which is currently leased by Boston University.

Jay Russo is passionate about the Boston area and is dedicated to providing the best solutions possible to meet the city's development needs.

Prior to joining University Student Living, Jay was the Business Development Director at Lendlease in Boston, where he was responsible for work acquisition in all sectors including residential, commercial, life science, and higher education.  Jay’s career includes more than 12 years at Boston City Hall where he held the position of Deputy Director for Development Review for the Boston Redevelopment Authority, where he oversaw a staff of more than a dozen project managers. While there, he had lead responsibility for all real estate development projects in the City of Boston.

Jay holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stonehill College in North Easton, MA. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and a member of the STEM Garden Institute.
